Room Types
Standard, en-suite and premium room options in Luma University halls.
En-suite rooms
En-suite rooms include a single bed, study desk and chair, wardrobe, storage and a private bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. These rooms form the majority of accommodation in Riverside Hall, Beacon Court and Scholars Village. Flats contain shared kitchens with oven, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and dining space.
En-suite rooms measure approximately 12–14 square metres. Premium en-suite rooms in Beacon Court and Scholars Village offer slightly larger floor space and enhanced views, commanding higher weekly rents.
Standard rooms
Maple House offers standard rooms with washbasin in the bedroom and shared bathroom facilities shared among four to six residents on each corridor. These rooms provide our most economical option while maintaining the social benefits of hall living.
Shared bathrooms are cleaned daily by housekeeping staff; residents maintain kitchen and communal areas collaboratively. Standard rooms include the same furniture provision as en-suite rooms.
Accessible rooms
Adapted rooms with widened doorways, wet-room showers, lowered fixtures and alarm systems are available in Riverside Hall and Scholars Village. Notify the accommodation office of requirements when applying so appropriate rooms are reserved.
Temporary accessibility needs may be accommodated where possible; contact accommodation@luma.ac.uk with medical documentation.
Couples and family accommodation
Luma does not currently offer couples or family flats in halls. Students with partners or dependents should explore private rented accommodation in Luma and surrounding areas. The accommodation office maintains a list of letting agents and advises on tenancy rights through NSU Advice.
